How to run ACCOUNT.EXE commands on a PC other than the Pcounter server

To run ACCOUNT.EXE on a workstation (not the Pcounter server), the Pcounter settings must be exported from the server to the workstation. There are two methods for accomplishing this.

  1. Configure through PControl:  First, open Pcontrol on the Pcounter server.  Locate the Pcounter server in the Network View, right-click, and choose Pcounter->Configuration from the popup menu. Then, in Global Settings click on Export settings to another server and point to the PC where you want to run the Account commands. Then copy the ACCOUNT.EXE file from the server to the C:\Windows\System32 directory on the workstation. The workstation should now be able to run ACCOUNT.EXE commands without changing to a specific directory in the Command Session.

  2. Using Regedit: You must manually export the Pcounter Global key from the Pcounter server to the workstation.

For x64 environments, the key is located in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Pcounter\Global.

For x86 environments, the key is located in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Pcounter\Global.
Simply locate the key on the server and export as a .reg file, then transfer the .reg file to the workstation. Import the registry settings to the workstation by importing the .reg file into Regedit.
